WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman (R-AR) issued the following statement after USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins announced a five-pronged plan to combat New World screwworm that includes a sterile fly dispersal facility in South Texas:
“The New World screwworm poses a serious threat to America’s livestock industry and the livelihoods of hardworking farmers and ranchers. I applaud Secretary Rollins for taking critical action to mitigate this risk and protect our livestock, agricultural economy and rural communities.”
