Chairman Boozman Applauds Senate Confirmation of USDA Deputy Secretary Stephen Vaden

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman (R-AR) released the following statement after the Senate confirmed Judge Stephen Vaden to serve as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture:

“I’m pleased the Senate confirmed Judge Vaden to be USDA Deputy Secretary. He is a dedicated public servant and is well-prepared to continue his service in this new role. His knowledge of agriculture policy and the needs of America’s farm communities will be valuable as a leader at the department. I congratulate him and look forward to working together to help our hardworking farmers, ranchers and producers succeed.”

In advance of the vote, Chairman Boozman spoke on the floor calling on his colleagues to confirm Judge Vaden.

The committee held a hearing to consider the nomination of Judge Vaden on April 8 and advanced his nomination to the Senate floor on May 5.
