Boozman Applauds USDA Appointments for Arkansas Rural Development and Farm Service Agency

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman (R-AR) applauded President Donald Trump’s appointments to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) positions in Arkansas. David Branscum will serve as Arkansas Rural Development Director and Ty Davis was named Farm Service Agency (FSA) State Executive Director.

“These roles are critical to supporting Arkansas farmers, ranchers, producers and rural communities. We can be proud to have dedicated agriculture leaders like David Branscum and Ty Davis overseeing USDA programs in our state. I look forward to working with them to ensure our farm families have the tools and resources they need to continue to feed the nation and the world,” Boozman said.

Branscum served in the same position during Trump’s first term. He is a third-generation cattle rancher, farmer and small business owner from Marshall, Arkansas. He earned a degree in agricultural economics from the University of Arkansas and is a member of the Searcy County Cattlemen’s Association. He is a former member of the Arkansas House of Representatives and currently serves as Arkansas Department of Education Director of Intergovernmental Affairs.

As Arkansas Rural Development Director, Branscum will be responsible for overseeing USDA investments, programs and personnel working to improve the lives of rural Arkansans.

Davis was raised on his family’s rice, soybean and corn farm in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He continues to support its operations as a fourth-generation farmer. He is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas. Davis currently serves as state agriculture liaison for Boozman and has worked for Arkansans as a member of his staff since 2012.

As Arkansas FSA Executive Director, Davis will be responsible for communicating the administration’s agriculture policies and initiatives and administering FSA programs across the state.
