Ranking Member Stabenow Statement on Administration’s Efforts in Advance of 2015 Wildfire Season

Stabenow’s 2014 Farm Bill Included Important Reforms to Aid Communities Facing Wildfires

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, today released the following statement on the Administration’s efforts in advance of the 2015 wildfire season.

“Today’s announcement provides a stark reminder of the importance of targeted and thoughtful policies to help protect our forested ‎communities from the devastation of wildfires,” Ranking Member Stabenow said. “As the West continues to grapple with severe droughts, it’s crucial that the Administration continue to work with local partners to implement and build on our efforts in the Farm Bill to ensure those on the front lines have the resources and the tools they need this fire season.”
