Chairwoman Stabenow Congratulates Commodity Futures Trading Commission Nominees

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, congratulated the White House’s nominees to serve on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC): Mr. Rostin Behnam, Ms. Kristin Johnson, and Ms. Christy Goldsmith Romero.

“It is great to see the nominations for these important CFTC positions, and I am so pleased to see Rostin Behnam nominated to lead the Commission,” said Senator Stabenow. “I was very fortunate to work with Russ for many years and know that he is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work at CFTC. There is no shortage of pressing issues before the Commission. And, it’s essential that we have permanent leadership at CFTC so they can devote their full energy to protecting consumers and safeguarding markets. I look forward to advancing these nominees in Committee.”

The CFTC plays a critical role in providing certainty in U.S. futures and swaps markets for Main Street businesses, consumers, farmers, and ranchers.
