The Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry is comprised of 23 members. 12 members of the majority; 11 members of the minority. This subcommittee oversees matters regarding production agriculture, including commodity programs, crop insurance, commodity exchanges, agriculture trade, international food assistance, and credit.
Related Agencies: Farm Service Agency, Foreign Agricultural Service, and Risk Management Agency at USDA, as well as Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Farm Credit Administration.

This subcommittee oversees many of the programs in USDA’s Rural Development mission area, including facilities, utilities, loans, and renewable energy.

This subcommittee oversees programs regarding conservation and protection of natural resources, regulation of pesticides and agriculture biotechnology, and forestry.
